About Bomb Waves

Bomb Waves started with a simple idea: make a changing towel that actually looks good.  I’ve always believed that if you think you look good, you’ll feel good, and if you feel good, you look good.  There are plenty of functional changing towels out there, but I wanted to create something that felt more elevated.  High quality, USA made, and thoughtfully designed.

Everything is made in small batches in San Francisco, California.  No fast fashion, no trend chasing.  Just durable, thoughtfully designed gear for people who spend their time in and around the water.

Bomb Waves is woman – and Asian – owned and built around comfort, function, and adventure. The towels are designed extra wide and long for easier changing, with details that make a difference when you’re cold, sandy, wet, and trying not to flash an entire parking lot.

About the Founder

Bomb Waves was founded by Van Ly, a Vietnamese-American designer raised in the Northern Bay Area. After getting into surfing later in life, she became inspired to create changing towels with a more elevated, designer-quality feel while still being functional, comfortable, and made for everyday adventure.

Without a background in fashion or apparel design, she learned everything along the way and built Bomb Waves from the ground up. The brand reflects her love for the ocean, design and the belief that you can create the kind of life that feels true to you.
